Problems with sulfur soap
After trying sulfur soap I initially had success: bumps seemed smoother, although the redness persisted.
However I have stopped using it a month or so along. My skin has become very dry; far more dry than when I didn't use it. But worse still my skin has become very itchy. After bathing with sulfur soap in the evening I found I was up half the night scratching. This all got a bit miserable, so I have abandoned the soap for a while. Has anyone had a similar experience? And can they offer a solution? I was using the 10% sulfur, 3% salicylic acid bar. Perhaps the soap simply doesn't suit me, as I'm aware many people have had success in improving their KP using this product. |

Were you using a good lotion following the Sulfur Soap? I used to use Lubriderm and found myself applying it many times between showers. I switched to Curel Q10 and only apply it once between showers. It really works well for me. I'm sure the soap would dry anyones skin w/out a good lotion and if you are using a stiff brush like I have been using for just about a year now the results with dry skin w/out a lotion would be really bad. Hi Kim,
I use a very basic moisturiser called E45 - not sure if you get it in the US. It helps for a while but the skin ends up dry again soon. Perhaps I should switch lotions. Where do you get your Q10? And even though the E45 helps with the dry skin it still doesn't stop the itching, which is what really put me off the sulfur soap. I'm not sure if I am unique in getting this side effect! Ol. |

maybe you should use sweet almond oil. I have little bumps on a small part of my arms, maybe it 's a rash. But using Sweet almond oil takes away the itchiness. plus it has no smell. I heard Emu oil is also good, but i havent tried it yet. It's more expensive and as many more uses than sweet almond. so it should work. I think they sell sweet almond oil in some stores. Not sure aobut emu oil. But they both sell on Ebay. Everythign is cheaper on ebay.

I have no idea if you can get Curel Q10 outside of the States. Here we can buy it just about anywhere, drug stores and food stores. Even if it's not Curel that you get, just maybe find something that works better for you in the moisurizing department. Kim
