Summary of things that really work (proven on your own skin)
Want to start a thread with an overview of products that really work (must be proven by yourself)! All people with such a product should reply in the same way. Discussions about the product and it's working must have to take place in another new thread.

SAL-3 Soap
Product: SAL-3 Soap
Active ingredients: 3% salicyclic acid, 10% sulfur How to apply: put it on during daily shower, leave it on for some minutes (at least 2-3), scrub the skin with a big nail-brush, wash it off Working: reduces bumps till there are hardly any bumps left, redness is still there Period: results within 2 weeks, becomes better and better during time Remark: first two weeks the skin will look worser, more redness, existing red bumps will open and become irritated Not sure about: if the soap works without using the big nail-brush Where to buy: www.sulphursoap.com |

Use a puff in the shower with either Dove moisturizing or Aveeno body scrub, afterwards immediatly put on an alphy hydroxy moisturizer like the Jergan's one or the new Vaseline kind. Doing just these things has helped clear it up, not all the way but enough to see results for me.

Tazarotene/Tazorac
1. Having used Tazorac (Tazarotene) for several weeks now, it definitely makes a big difference on my skin....Canadapharmacy.com has it much cheaper than in the U.S. I use it for 10 mins. at night then wash off. My doc told me to use Carmol HC with hydrocortisone after for redness that occurs but the Tazorac alone seems to work the best, with lotion once or twice a day. I am still experimenting, but I highly recommend the Tazorac. It may take a few weeks to see improvement, as possibly with anything, and everyone is different, so stick with something at least 6 weeks before giving up.
2. Every night I scrub with Intuition Body Smoothing Scrub, which I got from my derm. doc. It's from London, and it works really well with my KP. My doc is from London so he has it in his office, but as your doc about it. Another option that also worked well for me are the Murad exfoliating scrubs. |
