Summary of old message board (not sure about completeness!)

Hi everybody,

Here is my summary of the old message board. It's a summary of products that are said to work, or might be working. The working of the products isn't guaranteed. This because it is a summary of the observations and experiences of (only some) users of the old message board. I am not sure about the completeness of this summary. It is possible I didn't mention some possibilities. This because I read over them or because I thought the message wasn't trustworthy (remember the freak!!). If you have questions about the product, the effectiveness of the products or the working of the products, you have to check the archives of the old message board. Discussing possible treatments on this new board is also an option.

Sorry for the length of the message!

What is working for many people treating KP:
-Sulphur Soap (active ingredient: 10% sulfur)
-SAL-3 Soap (active ingredients: 3% salicyclic acid & 10% sulfur)
-Oxy 5 (helps with lightening the dots)
-Scrubbing with a loofah (natural sponge-type scrubber that looks like it is made up of rough fibers = tan, hard, sponge thing = bath item) and/or scrubber and/or pumice stone and/or buff-puff (= rough sponge = acne product) (after beginning scrubbing, KP can got worser, got more breakouts and made the existing breakouts worse. But it got better after a week)
-Methyl Sulfonyl Methane = MSM (100% pure powder or capsules) internally
-MSM-soap
-MSM-soak in the tub
-MSM-lotion
-Carmol 20 (active ingredient is urea)
-JAFRA’s Royal Jelly Body Complex
-Tea Tree Soap
-Clearasil Night Gel
-Glycolic Acid Cream base – 12% or 20%
-Carmol-SalicyclicAcid cream
-Cream that has a high level of Retin-A
-AmLactin
-CoQ10 pills
-Elicina cream
-Jergens Lotion Naturally Smooth

Stuff with prescription which work for some people:
-Lotrisone Lotion – contains steroids (you do need to be monitored by a physician and only use it when you have a flare up)
-Elidel - non-steroid cream that can be safely used on the body of face without side effects
-Erythrymycin gel 2% (warning: strong antibiotic)
-Diprosalic (as a liquid, you can mix a few drops of it with a lotion)
-Liquid Nitrogen
-DesOwen
-LacHydrin 12%

What is working for many people moisturising skin (good for KP):
-Dove Nutrium Body Wash
-Victoria’s Secret’s Lotion
-Sweet Almond Oil
-Neutrogena Multivitamin Acne Wash
-Neutrogena oil, called ‘Multi-Vitamin Acne Treatment’
-Paula’s Choice BHA Lotion
-Cod Liver Oil
-Primrose Oil
-Lubriderm
-Flax seed oil
-Kiss My Face Olive Oil for Sensitive Skin (can be mixed with a dollop of ‘Neutrogena Clear Pore’ with Salicylcic Acid)
-Moisturiser with 25% Urea by Dermal Therapy
-Dermarest (3% Salicylcic Acid treatment for Psoriases)
-MD Forte Hand & Body Cream
-Tea Tree Oil Body Wash
-Emu Oil

Next products maybe can help improving skin, but not proven:
-Vitamin E-complex lotion
-Ester-C supplements
-Garlic
-Vitamin C capsules
-Multi Vitamin capsules
-Saw Palmetto standardised extract (by Nature’s Way)
-Amino Acid supplement (by Windmill)

Tips:
-You should leave any product that contains Salicylic Acid sit on your skin to really get results including the SAL-3 Soap
-When using some new treatment for KP, at least wait until 3 months before u start expecting your KP to vanish (bit by bit).
-Do not pick the kind of pimples. Scars are the results.
-Visiting a sauna is really good for the KP skin.

Victoria's Secret Lotion

That cracks me up about the Victoria's Secret lotion. My mom gave me a bottle of the Pear scented lotion and I used it because it smelled good, but I always noticed that my KP looked better if I used it regularly, much better than with other lotions. Guess it wasn't all in my head!

No big deal......

Hopefully it helps us all! Warning: you should do a search for a specific product on the old message board before buying and using it! By going to the old message board and doing a SEARCH for a specific product, you can read about the product and the experiences of other people using the product. I say this because I am not really sure (as said before) about all products. Example: I think Elicinia should be skipped from the list of products that seems to work. This after I did a search for it by myself on the old message board.

DO NOT USE LIQUID NITROGEN! I'm pretty sure whoever posted that was a troll. Liquid nitrogen is used for warts and will seriously burn your skin if you try to use it for kp.

Liquid nitrogen is not just used for warts, it can be used for other stuff as well. And it only burns if you hold it on your skin for a long time. If you gently wipe it over your skin with cotton wool, it kills the outer skin cells and helps renew your skin. But i do agree that it should not be used for kp. kp goes deeper then the outer layer of skin cells. The liquid nitro wont help
