Roaccutane

Did anyone use roaccutane before? I asked a dermatologist working in Roche, he said that roaccutane is mainly used for acnes but there were cases in which some people having KP benefited from roaccutane a lot.

Important--> I did not use it since they say it may have some side effects. So I do not suggest you to use it for the time being.

If interested -->

I have used Roaccutane. My dermatologist gave me the advice to use it for my KP. At that time, some acne was also bothering me. For my acne, it worked really good. It helps longlasting. My acne was not that bad, but nowadays occasionaly there are some dots.

I was having KP before using the Roaccutane. So, I didn't get KP from using Roaccutane. The Roaccutane did nothing for my KP. It didn't improve it, but it also didn't make it worser. I have to say I didn't use Roaccutane that much. You can have 1 mg per 1 kg of your body weight. So if your body weight is 75 kg, you can have 75 mg a day. I only took 10 mg a day, and my body weight is 77 kg.

What I know is that Roaccutane has an effect on pores that moisturize the skin. From what I know, that are not the same as the PK affected hair follicles.

Greetings,
PJV

First of all, is roaccutane the same as accutane? I was prescribed accutane many years ago for acne & it worked beautifully & my complexion improved 100% & to this day I get many compliments on what a wonferful complexion I have. The bad news is soon after I was finished taking the accutane I developed KP. I tend to believe that it is the cause of the KP since I never had it before then. Also, I remember on the old message board several people having the same experience. My mom has a VERY mild case on her upper arms, barely noticeable, so maybe the accutane triggered something that may never have come out since I've noticed that most people have had this from birth or a very early age & mine didn't start until much later.

DO NOT take accutane. I can not stress this enough!! Just take a look at the warnings - it is a very very powerful drug, which can cause very very serious side effects.

I had mild KP on my tricep only prior to taking it. In my 5th month of low dose accutane (10mg/day), I developed and still have KP on my shoulders, back, chest, and arms. Additionally, my hair has fallen out and continued to fall out (been over a year now and now contemplate a hair transplant).

Do a quick search on accutane and you will see the number of people who have had permanent problems with it. Reversing the damage may not be possible (it kills oil glands).

It was my stupidest and biggest mistake in life by far.
