You can't make a general statement like "a teaspoon equals xxx grams of a powdered substance" without knowing the density of the substance in question. Teaspoons measure volume, and grams measure weight. A teaspoon of lead would be far heavier than a teaspoon of magnesium. But yeah, you aren't far off in this case. I haven't mixed it yet, but I was planning to use water.
