What you are describing doesn’t sound like kp for several reasons. First, kp doesn’t occur in patches… usually the bumps are evenly spread out over a substantial area (upper arms, face, thighs, buttocks…) Second, kp doesn’t itch. It also won’t appear after a sunburn. It could worsen (or get better) but one won’t cause it. What you are describing could be allergic dermatitis, an allergic reaction due to a change in soap, detergent, moisturizer, lotion, or it could be something that you rubbed up against or ate. (There are zillions of different skin ailments out there.) If you haven’t had the symptoms for a long time, try using hydrocortisone cream to alleviate the inflammatory and itchy component. If you’ve had it for a long time you should see a doctor. It may be an Eczematous Dermatitis (which needs to be addressed differently) —he can access your condition better since he can see your skin first hand. Hope that helps!
