I've shared the same experience. The drier the better. I've been using this product called TendSkin that is used to discourage in-grown hair. (Sold at tendskin.com website & I've seen it in beauty product stores & spas) It gently dries out skin and exfoliates. I've noticed some improvement, but it doesn't eradicate the condition entirely.
