Interesting ideas. I am 40 and have had KP forever with occasional bouts of clear skin. I am overweight now, and it is worse now.... But I was also very skinny once, and had it then too. I am fairly careful about what I eat. (I just eat too much.) I eat alot of vegetables and fruits. I do have a wicked sweet tooth though. The last time my skin was exceptionally nice looking I was really into the all-natural stuff and nutrition. I was taking a teaspoon of Flax Oil every day. Plus adding Brewers yeast and Spirulina to a nutrition shake I used to whip up. On my skin I would layer Lac Hydrin, concentrated (4x) pure Aloe gel (health food store only), and Coconut Oil. In the shower I used the Dr. Bronners all natural soap and a loofah. Sometimes the lavendar soap, sometimes the peppermint. Now, I tell you all this but let me add that I was also overweight. As a matter of fact, I think the Flax Oil supplementation may have added pounds. I also want to add that I have since tried the external program again, without the Brewers Yeast and Flax Oil, and it didn't work alone. So, yes, I have particularly wondered about the Flax Oil (essential fatty acids) and may try it again. The extra calories worry me but perhaps I could make a salad dressing with it and use it that way. I may give it a try. There are so many factors that whenever my skin has cleared it is very difficult to know exactly what caused it. As soon as I think I know, of course, I try it and it doesn't work.
