You should remember that because of salicylic acid's vasoconstrictive properties, it does have SOME ability to reduce redness and inflammation (in addition to its primary keratolytic effect). In my experience, the steroids work better than salicylic acid alone in reducing redness, but for some folks, sal acid might be enough.
