Hydrocortisone is a low-potency steroid that will help minimize the redness and inflammation that sometimes accompanies KP. Many people with KP just have the bumps without redness--for them, steroid creams are more or less useless. You need to use hydrocortisone in addition to some form of chemical exfolatiatant (i.e., lac-hydrin, amlactin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.) Hydrocortisone BY ITSELF will not clear up KP.
