Hi, The phototherapy is in combination with the clobetasol/cetaphil cream compound. When I mentioned to my doctor that "one of these is working", he said it was the combination of the two, the phototherapy and the cream. The phototherapy is prescribed by him and I believe it's covered by the insurance (I haven't heard otherwise yet). I just go in to the office twice a week and they take me back to a machine that is similar to a tanning bed but upright and enclosed, kind of like a "beam me up scotty" thing. It's called "narrow band uva or uvb". I'm not sure how long I need to do this, I will ask him next time. Not sure if this is really all that good for my skin health longterm. So nice to wear shorts and sleeveless shirts without feeling self-conscious. So ask your dermatologist about this type of treatment. Of course, it may not be successful for everyone, or else this would be the "cure"!
