I too did not have a problem with KP until after my second child, age 31. I too had gained 60 pounds...and with it seemed to come KP. Unfortunately, I thought it was hormonal due to the pregnancy and did not get diagnosed by a dermatologist until almost a year later...after it had had a chance to scar and worsen. I am now 35, have since lost the weight and my KP is better, but still not under control. I also suffer from very oily skin and moderate acne on my face and upper back and chest so the dry skin theory doesn't relate to my situation. Anyone else have this combined problem? I am currently taking oral Erythromycin for my acne and using a combination of cortisone and antibiotic creams on my arms daily which helps immensly. Even when the KP and Acne are under some control, I battle the redness and scars. I rarely go out without makeup. AND, my two boys, ages 3 and 11 have a mild version of KP already! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last changed: 06/27/02
