I think that other than getting a good psychologist who has experienced KP or a similar cosmetic skin disorder, the best thing you can do to help your niece deal with the KP is to think aobut what made you feel good or bad about your KP as you were growing up. Make sure she is not reminded of the KP needlessly, but at the same time if you are sure that she has been teased or asked about it or noticed it herself and is starting to feel uncomfortable about it, make sure she knows she's not alone in having it and that there are ways to treat it, if not cure it. Make sure she knoes that she is very beautiful, and has beatuiful skin, regardless of the KP. If you can, try to help her perceive the KP as just a nuisance to be dealt with or possibly ignored, and not as a horrible curse that is making her life awful. You may disagree with the above, but nevertheless it is based on my 26 years of life with KP and coming to terms with it.
