is my mom a b****?

im very mad at my mom. ill tell you why. she came from out of state to visit me and my brother and his gf and child. she stayed at my house for 2 weeks. i was a very gracious host. i went out of my way to make sure she was happy. she was a bad guest for many reasons. but what she did that made me very mad is..she went Through my personal belongings. she went THROUGH all my stuff i had a lot of boxes packed away in a spare room and in my basement and she went Through them. is this not a huge invasion of privacy ? is this normal? my friend says its normal and i should have expected it. i think she's just a b*****.
im 24 im not a child. i think shes going to have to find some were else to stay the next time she visits.
what do you think?

Re: is my mom a b****?

John,

You were a gracious host, but she was not a gracious guest. It was very inconsiderate of her to throw your things out. Did you talk to her and tell her how you felt about it? (I hope you didn't use the "b" word to her face, because that would not have helped your communication with her.)

Your friend is wrong. It is not normal and you should not have expected it. If she stays with you again, she needs to agree that she has no right to go through your personal belongings or to throw anything out.

No matter how angry you feel towards her right now, there is a very good possibility that you and she can discuss this and that you can put it behind you. Hopefully, she will be able to apologize.

Re: is my mom a b****?

with Kebod totally.

She has no right to throw your stuff out. That was very disrespectful and you should talk to her. Tell her that you felt bad about it and would like her to respcet you as you respect her.

Keep things in a very low tone so she understand that you are a mature person now that you are 24!

Re: is my mom a b****?

i didn't say she throw anything out. i said she went throw....ow...i must have used the wrong word.sorry
i meant to say she went threw my personal belongings.

whats your opinion on that?

no i didn't use the b word on her. ive expressed my frustration to her. now shes bringing up something that she shouldn't even know about. if she hadn't been going threw my stuff, being nosy she wouldn't know about this thing.

Re: is my mom a b****?

I misunderstood you. I see now that you meant "went through". She still needs to mind her own business and stay out of your things.

Re: is my mom a b****?

If my mom went through my stuff, it would be a 9. 10 would be if she actually did throw things away.

Your experience reminds me of one summer when I was about 11 or 12 and my grandparents stayed with us while by parents were away. My grandfather took it upon himself to clean out the gararge. He threw away a lot of things, including childhood treasures -- a whole bag of Indian pottery pieces and other artifacts I had collected at ruins of an Indian pueblo in New Mexico (illegal to collect artifacts now, but not then), dolls and toys from my younger years. I was really sad when that happened. Everynow and then, my sisters and I remember a favorite toy from our childhood, and then we remember what happened to it.

Re: is my mom a b****?

thats sad that he throw your priceless artifacts away. childhood toys bring back memories and have so much sentimental value.
