Making sense of health news and research
Article from NYTimes magazine regarding why discrepancies in health research come up, using HRT (hormone replacement therapy) as its main discussion point. (you may have to sign up for the nytimes website, they have some free access and some paid but I find the headlines email coming to my inbox daily is not a big deal.) I'm very curious about the author's upcoming book which is something about challenging conventional notions of diets or something...

BD, thanks for giving us this link. A very thought-provoking article that everyone should read. It starts out about hormone replacement therapy, but it only uses that as an example of the bigger picture, i.e., scientific research has many caveats and shouldn't be taken at face value. This article will only be able for free viewing through Sept. 22.
BTW, BD, as of this past Tuesday, all NYT articles are now free (for one week). I read the online NYT everyday. kebod |
