I just wanted to post a little about something that's way off topic here (since that's what this forum is for): the death of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. I'm deeply saddened by this tragic loss. I never knew Steve personally, but would have loved to. I respected him, his work, and his passion for animals. I'm deeply sorry for his family and friends and hope that the world will allow them a little peace so they may grieve for their beloved. My heart goes out to them.
To all the fans out there: Don't let his memory or his mission be forgotten! It's up to us to protect the animals of this planet! Conservation has taken a hit with Steve's passing, so we must all step up to do our part. I know he's left big shoes to fill, but if we all pitch in, we just may get the job done. Rest in peace, Steve, and know that you've left this world a better place. Love Always to the Irwin Family and Friends EDIT: To anyone wishing to post a kind rememberance, thought, picture, or prayer about Steve or his family, please feel free to do so here. To anyone who has negative remarks or unkind things to say, please hold your tongue and kindly respect those of us who are mourning this loss. This is not the thread for bashing or hating. As my mother always says, "If you can't say something nice, then please don't say anything at all." Thank you. Last edited by allisonsullivan; 09-07-2006 at 01:42 PM. |

I feel like Steve Irwin did a big part in erasing ignorance about some of the world's most feared animals. He showed us that these animals (nor any animal) weren't evil, that they were just trying to survive.
I was really shocked to hear that he had died, it was a complete and total freak accident. I lost my father, who was also too young, a year ago and I wish Steve's family the best of luck. |
