HI, I'm kaia. I'm not really "big" but I could stand to lose some weight. It's hard having kp and have a little weight to lose. Talk about feeling insecure at times. But i always think that there is someone out there just like me. I'm happy to have found this website and to be able to talk to people who have kp. If anyone would like to talk I just post a thread called just joined. Happy New Year!

im not the skinnest girl in my school but i dont think that im overweight. It makes me really mad that all the world thinks that beauty=thin+clear complection. well im proud to be diffrent, after all its whats inside that counts

I'm not stick thin by any means...and i am very concerned about my weight....infact it bothers me. People have always told me I'm beautiful the way I am..but I'm still self-concious. Nice to know theres a support with wonderful girls here! Thanks for making this thread!! And yes Lissa Lmere, be proud to be different....dont follow societies eye of beauty.....because that is NOT beauty, thats UNHEALTHY!

Besides....i can safely say 90% of men I have asked and know have all gladly, and proudly announce they like a lady with a little extra meat on her bones.

Hello, It has been a year since I last posted something on this thread and I thought that it would cool join back in on it again. Since I last posted something, I have lost 37 pounds and dropped 3 pant sizes. I feel great and have alot more confidence.

Before I lost weight I was very insecure but, I tried my best not to let other people know it. I would be depressed and start crying about how I hated that I was over weight and then also had kp. I would feel so down about the way I looked and felt, Which caused me to eat even more ( I was an emotional eater). Also, I do bellydancing and that would be trying on my confidence to get up stage and dance in a costume that showed my kp and pudgy tummy.

But, one day I looked at myself in the mirror and it was like a big wake up call. I said to myself " this is not what I want or what I feel I look like". When I got real about my weight and about my emotional attachment to food, I started losing weight. Also, it didn't help the fact that there were two REALLY SKINNY girls in the bellydance troupe that were the same age as me and we were doing a dance together. That was a big inscentive. I basically threw myself into dance and got on a strict diet. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks.
I still have about 5-10 more pounds to lose but, I feel amazing. I still have kp and all but, I feel a whole lot better about myself and the kp after losing some weight. It built my confidence up tremendously and now kp seems to not have as much of an effect on my self image. Now, I'm not some skinny little thing, I still have a little meat on my bones but, I'm healthy and happy with myself and that is what counts the most.
Not what other people think of you but, what you think of yourself. If it means for you to lose weight to make you feel better then, great. But, if not then just realize that you are you and love yourself for who you are. If anyone wants to talk just let me know! I love what this website has done for me and hopefully it will do the same for you. Peace, love and harmony to you all!

I'm not big but I could do with losing a little weight.
Also I have to get braces soon so I have hardly any confidence.
I have KP on my arms, thighs and butt, I can't wear skirts or nice t shirts.

I really want to get rid of my KP but I don't know where to start.

hey ellie-leigh im exactly the same! i have braces too and my kp on my arms is sooooooooo bad i cant wear any short-sleeved tops during the summer. My self-esteem is zero and i have a prom coming up in june.............someone help me!!! How am i going to wear my dress (it doesn't have sleeves) with confidence? everone will be staring...i hate seeing others with their perfect skin- i have an older sister who doesn't have kp at all, she's so lucky. I once tried laser treatment bt it just improved the texture for a month or so and then it returned so i gave up and ive tried so many creams none work. Oh well I wont give up hope that theres something out there thatll help! As for your braces just think how nice your teeth will be when they come off!

i no what you mean i dunno bout ne1 else here but all through summer i wear long-sleeved tops...i live in england so im quite lucky it doesn't get too hot here so i can wear them but if we get a heatwave i dread going outside cos everyone's in shorts and little tops and im in jeans and a jumper! lol! maybe not a jumper but you know what i mean...so i cover up my kp but i get so hot and shiny i look like a mirror! i just can't win!
